My Gellie Take

Only few people knew that I love make up, particularly MAC. I'm not an expert but I would make a review on the items that I've tried and tested.  So people who are exploring the make up world could make a simple comparison on the products.

I'll try to compare brands from low to high so you beautiful people could get a glimpse of what in store for you in the particular item.

My first try for today is  KATE GEL  Eye Liner and MAC Dipdown Fluidline.

KATE products is actually a sub brand of Kanebo japan. The pot is almost similar to MAC but a little bit smaller.  It comes with a brush that glides smoothly on your lid. Kate gel eyeliner has a little bit of shimmer in it. Almost the same shade as MAC graphic brown f/l. Staying power for me in only 30%  as I have oily  eyelids. Somehow only  half a day goes by and same with this eye gel. This is great for dry lids (maybe) as the product just stay put on my dry hand even if i try to smudge it.

My verdict: I'd get another one because of the brush  which for me is a must have. =) also price is not so b ad for Hk$ 63.00

MAC Dipdown fluid line gel liner. This is one of my favorite shade. I don't usually use  black liners as my sister says I look more mature in it. So better get something in brown eh. Anyway, the pot only contains about 3 grams. of fluidline but  it last a long time. Use it every day and when you look at the pot the next morning when you slide your brush it seems you'll never run out of it. =) The staying power of MAC fluidline is superb.  It sometimes smudges on me during humid days but never on cold. The liner is just matte which is good for daily use. Try washing your face  and all your make up will disappear except for this baby.

My verdict: Love it to bits

My second review would be  KATE  Super Sharp Eye liner and MAC Penultimate.

Yes, I know most of us don't want to bring pots of gel eye liners when traveling. Gladly there are new products that were launched to replace them.

Here is KATE super sharp eye liner. The first time I tried this item I find it a little disappointing as it line so thinly and so light. The color was not sharp enough so you have to apply it twice to make the color stand out after that I'm solve. It's very good if you only want to achieve a natural look. Good size for traveling too =)

My verdict:  not so bad for HK$ 63.00.

MAC Penultimate , I was so excited to get this product when it first came to  HK. Sadly I was out of the country when MAC launched it.  And so when I got back I asked some make up reliable friends of mine  (Aileen and Melvel) if this is a good buy as I was really looking for alternatives for my pots  when I travel. And  you know how it is in HK airport and any airport in the world, they are so strict with creams and liquids. Anyway back to my story,  friends told me  that this is alright for traveling, easy glide and smooth liquid eyeliner. But sadly the staying power was not very good. I though I could live with that so I bought one when  MAC restocked. And yes they were right  staying power was not that good. It disappears/smudges after 4-6 hours and it smudges up to half of my lid! oh my!

My verdict:  this product is a so so. You can use it as an alternative to pots  but can't be your HG.
